Tony Steindle
Tony Steindle commenced practice in 1989. Prior to forming Steindle Williams he
was a partner in a prominent Auckland city law firm. Tony started his career with
an international law firm based in Auckland. He now practices primarily in the areas
of general commercial advice, structuring and personal asset planning and property
development. Tony is the honorary solicitor for the Auckland Property Investors
Association and he has written articles on property related legal matters. Tony
has recently been involved in development work associated with several major building
projects as well as assisting a number of prominent accounting firms with structuring
and tax advice and documentation relating to tax minimisation for private investors.
Megan Williams
Megan Williams has been in practice since 1994 when she graduated from Auckland
University with a BA/LLB. After commencing practice with a small legal firm on the
North Shore, Megan traveled to London and gained admission to the High Court of
England and Wales. Upon her return to Auckland she practiced with Tony Steindle
at Glaister Ennor in Auckland before they formed Steindle Williams Legal in 2002.
Megan is one of the founding members of the Ponsonby Chapter of BNI and has spoken
at various seminars including Dolf de Roos Property Schools. While Megan deals in
a wide range of areas her specific expertise relates to commercial and residential
property, sale and purchase of businesses, advice on structuring purchases and planning
for maximum tax advantages and personal asset planning including the formation and
administration of family trusts.
Andrew Orr
Andrew graduated with a law degree from Victoria University in 1995. He subsequently travelled
overseas and worked in London. On his return to New Zealand he was admitted to the bar as a solicitor
in 1997 and commenced practice the same year. In 2004, Andrew joined Steindle Williams Legal. Andrew’s
focus is to work with entrepreneurial clients on all aspects of their business including structuring,
acquisition, funding and disposal, but most of all he enjoys putting good deals together by matching
great ideas with the right people. His recent work has involved lifestyle property developments,
property ownership schemes and the creation and sale of carbon credits under the Permanent Forest
Sink Initiative and the Emissions Trading Scheme. He has varied interests including flying, carbon
farming, sea kayaking and mountain biking - when he's not pushing prams.
Cynthia Sparling
Cynthia Sparling graduated from Auckland University in 1985 and was admitted to
the bar that year. She joined Steindle Williams Legal in August 2003 to undertake
its litigation work. Her areas of practice are employment, civil litigation and
family law including relationship property, family protection claims, claims under
the Law Reform (Testamentary Promises) Act and custody and access matters.
Taff Bennett
Taff graduated from the University of Auckland in 2002 and was admitted to the Bar in 2003.
Taff previously worked for a city firm and a suburban practice on the North Shore. Taff practises in the
general commercial, company and property fields.
James Stewart
James graduated from the University of Auckland in 2007 with a bachelor of commerce and a bachelor of laws,
and was admitted to the Bar in the same year. James works primarily in the areas of estate and tax planning,
residential and commercial property, and general commercial matters.
Jessica Marshall
Jessica graduated from Canterbury University in 2008 with an LLB and a BA and was admitted to the Bar in that
same year. Jessica joined Steindle Williams in May 2008 and works primarily in the arears of residential and
commercial property, estate and tax planning and general commercial matters.
Theo McLennan
Theo graduated from the University of Otage with an LLB/BSC and is a Solicitor who deals with residential and
commercial property matters and devlopment, estate planning, Wills and gereral commercial advice.
Hilary Jenkins
Hilary has worked with Tony Steindle since 1996, originally in an administrative role, and commenced legal
executive duties in 1997. While Hilary spent some time dealing with the administration and trust accounting
side of SWL at it's inception, she also has in excess of 10 years legal executive experience in a varied range of
legal work and is registered as a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. Hilary now has two
children and works solely in a legal executive capacity. Her primary areas are residential and commercial
conveyancing and subdivisions.
Devina Monsinger
Devina joined us in 2008 after more than 20 years experience in legal accounts in South Africa.
She is the firm's trust accountant and manages the office account as well as the payroll.
Rachel Lee
Rachel joined us as our receptionist in 2004 after having worked in various inner city firms.
In 2009 she became a registered Legal Executive with the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives.
Rachel deals with residential conveyancing and development work, and general estate planning including
Trusts and their administration and Wills.
Sarah Daniels
Sarah joined us in August 2009 as our Receptionist having previously worked in this position in two legal practices.
Sarah has now moved into a secretarial role assisting all authors in the office.
Sarah McKay
Sarah joined us in February 2010 as our Receptionist and also assists with secretarial support.
